Double Fudge
By: Judy Blume
Hi, my name is Nicole. In my guided reading class with Mrs. Robinson, my guided reading teacher, we read the book Double
Fudge. It is a humorous fiction book. It won the New York Times Bestseller, Publishers Weekly Bestseller, and the Book Sense
Bestseller Award.
The main characters are Fudge and Peter. Fudge is a little boy that causes trouble and Peter is Fudge’s older
brother.
The story was about Fudge who is so into money. He makes his own mondy, which he calls fudge bucks. He tries to spend
it on things you can only buy with real money. On Halloween he was a miser. He actually wants to buy New York because he
thinks he has enough money to buy anything. They ran into some relatives that they hadn’t seen for a long time.
Fudge and Peter finally meet their three cousins. Two of them call themselves the Natural Beauties. The other one is a little
boy who was named Farley Drexel Hatcher, which is the same as Fudge’s real name. Do you want to know what happens
next? Read this book and find out!
When I was finished reading this book I got to choose from one to five stars to tell how well I liked it. I gave this
book five stars because it was funny and entertaining.
I would recommend it to kids from third grade and older. I think especially fourth grade because the main character,
Peter, is in fourth grade.
